BIG IDEA
Prayer isn't just asking God to bless the life I'm building; it's __________________ my life to the kingdom God is building.
LOOKING BACK
Last week we learned:
Who is God?
Our __________________.
How should we approach Him?
“__________________ be Your name.”
Now Jesus takes prayer somewhere deeper:
“Your Kingdom come.”
Prayer begins moving our attention from who God is to what God __________________ to do.
WHAT WOULD YOU CHANGE?
If you were given complete authority over one area of the world for 24 hours, what would you change?______________________________________________________________________________________________
Why did you choose that?______________________________________________________________________________________________
We all have ideas about how things should be. We all have a picture of what we think would make life better.
But Jesus doesn't teach us to pray: “__________________ kingdom come.”
He teaches us:
“Your Kingdom come.”
DISCOVER
Matthew 6:10 “Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.”
Matthew 6:33 “But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness...”
What do you think Jesus means when He says “the kingdom of God”?______________________________________________________________________________________________
POINT 1
GOD'S KINGDOM IS GOD'S RULE When we hear the word kingdom, we tend to think about:
A __________________
A __________________
A __________________
A __________________
But God's kingdom is primarily about God's __________________ and __________________.
Jesus is teaching us to pray:“God, let Your __________________ become reality in my life.”
The kingdom of God isn't just somewhere we're going someday. It's something we're invited to live __________________ today. Jesus came to bring the rule of __________________ into people's lives.Think About It
What would it look like for God's rule to become more evident in your life?____________________________________________________________________________________________
POINT 2
“YOUR KINGDOM” MEANS “NOT MINE”
This is where the prayer gets uncomfortable.
It's easy to pray:
“God, bless my __________________.”
It's harder to pray:
“God, __________________ my plans.” It's easy to pray:
“God, give me what I __________________.”
It's harder to pray:
“God, teach me to want what __________________ want.”
The kingdom prayer is a transfer of __________________.
We move from:
“God, here's what I want you to do.” to “God, what do you want to do?”
Personal Reflection
Where do you find yourself saying, “God, here's what I want you to do”?______________________________________________________________________________________________________
Where might God be asking you, “What do I want to do?”__________________________________________________________________________________________________
POINT 3
THE KINGDOM CHANGES WHAT WE PRIORITIZE
Matthew 6:33 “Seek __________________ the kingdom of God...” Jesus doesn't say, “Seek the kingdom eventually.”
He says: “Seek first.”
First means __________________.
Before:
His kingdom comes __________________.
WHAT WE PRAY FOR REVEALS WHAT WE VALUE
If we consistently pray:
“My career.”
“My money.”
“My comfort.”
“My success.”
“My plans.”
We may be revealing what kingdom we're actually __________________.
Prayer has a way of exposing our __________________.
What do your prayers reveal about what you value? ______________________________________________________________________________________________
POINT 4
WE BECOME ANSWERS TO THE PRAYERS WE PRAY
We pray:
“Your Kingdom come.”
Then God may look at us and say:
“Okay. Through __________________.”
We pray for people to experience __________________. Then God sends us.
We pray for someone to experience __________________. Then God asks us to give.
We pray for someone to know __________________. Then God puts us in their life.
We pray for __________________.
Then God asks us to act justly.
Sometimes God answers our kingdom prayers by making us part of the __________________.
The kingdom isn't just something we pray about.
It's something we __________________ in.

MY KINGDOM / GOD'S KINGDOM
The goal isn't to feel guilty about having dreams, goals, or desires.
The goal is to __________________ them to God and ask whether our dreams are becoming part of His __________________.
MY KINGDOM
What am I currently trying to control?_______________________________________________
What am I trying to build?_______________________________________________

CLOSING THOUGHT
Your Kingdom come.
Not just my kingdom.
Not just my plans.
Not just my preferences.
But Your __________________.
My prayer this week:
Father, make me a person through whom Your Kingdom comes. Let Your love come through me. Let Your grace come through me. Let Your justice come through me. Let Your presence come through me.
Your Kingdom come. Amen.
