ONE TOUCH
Mark 5:25-34, “A woman in the crowd had suffered for twelve years with constant bleeding. 26 She had suffered a great deal from many doctors, and over the years she had spent everything she had to pay them, but she had gotten no better. In fact, she had gotten worse. 27 She had heard about Jesus, so she came up behind him through the crowd and touched his robe. 28 For she thought to herself, “If I can just touch his robe, I will be healed.” 29 Immediately the bleeding stopped, and she could feel in her body that she had been healed of her terrible condition.
30 Jesus realized at once that healing power had gone out from him, so he turned around in the crowd and asked, “Who touched my robe?”
31 His disciples said to him, “Look at this crowd pressing around you. How can you ask, ‘Who touched me?’”
32 But he kept on looking around to see who had done it. 33 Then the frightened woman, trembling at the realization of what had happened to her, came and fell to her knees in front of him and told him what she had done. 34 And he said to her, “Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace. Your suffering is over.”
**JESUS IS STILL THE HEALER, AND WHATEVER PAIN YOU CARRY, YOU CAN BRING IT TO HIM
Psalm 103:2-3, “Let all that I am praise the Lord; may I never forget the good things he does for me. 3 He forgives all my sins and heals all my diseases.”
GOD STILL HEALS
1.BELIEVE HE CAN
Mark 5:27, “She had heard about Jesus, so she came up behind him through the crowd and touched his robe.”
Exodus 15:26, “He said, “If you will listen carefully to the voice of the Lord your God and do what is right in his sight, obeying his commands and keeping all his decrees, then I will not make you suffer any of the diseases I sent on the Egyptians; for I am the Lord who heals you.”
**FAITH DOESN’T DENY THE DIAGNOSIS; FAITH DECLARES THAT THE DIAGNOSIS DOESN’T GET THE FINAL WORD
Faith isn’t saying:“I AM NOT SICK.”
Faith says:“I MAY BE SICK, BUT GOD IS STILL GOD.”
2.BRING YOUR PAIN TO JESUS
Mark 5:28, “For she thought to herself, “If I can just touch his robe, I will be healed.”
TRUTH: YOU CAN BE CLOSE TO JESUS WITHOUT EVER REACHING FOR JESUS
3.ASK WITH FAITH
Mark 5: 28-29, “For she thought to herself, “If I can just touch his robe, I will be healed.” 29 Immediately the bleeding stopped, and she could feel in her body that she had been healed of her terrible condition.”
Mark 11:24, “I tell you, you can pray for anything, and if you believe that you’ve received it, it will be yours.”
TRUTH: PRAYER ISN’T INFORMING GOD ABOUT SOMETHING HE DOESN’T KNOW. PRAYER IS INVITING GOD INTO SOMETHING YOU CANNOT FIX
**FAITH DOESN’T TELL GOD WHAT HE MUST DO; FAITH TRUSTS GOD WITH WHAT HE CHOOSES TO DO
4.TRUST THE HEALER
Mark 5:34, “And he said to her, “Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace. Your suffering is over.”
**SOMETIMES THE MIRACLE ISN’T SIMPLY THAT THE PAIN DISAPPEARS; THE MIRACLE IS THAT JESUS MEETS YOU IN THE PAIN.
Psalm 34:18, “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed.”
TRUTH: OUR ULTIMATE HOPE ISN’T THAT JESUS WILL EVENTUALLY HEAL EVERYTHING IN THIS LIFE. OUR ULTIMATE HOPE IS THAT JESUS WILL EVENTUALLY HEAL EVERYTHING FOREVER.
PRACTICAL APPLICATION:
“HOW TO PRAY FOR HEALING”
ASK SPECIFICALLY…“Jesus, heal my…”
ASK BOLDLY…“Jesus, I believe You can.”
ASK PERSISTENTLY…“Keep Praying”
SURRENDER COMPLETELY…“Jesus, I trust You with the outcome.
