MISSION POSSIBLE Part 2

Everyday Mission

Matthew 28:18-20, “Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. 19 Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. 20 Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

BIG IDEA: YOU DON’T HAVE TO GO SOMEWHERE SPECIAL TO LIVE ON MISSION.  YOU JUST HAVE TO SEE WHERE YOU ALREADY ARE AS A PLACE GOD HAS SENT YOU.

BIG QUESTION: WHAT IF THE PEOPLE YOU ENCOUNTER EVERY DAY AREN’T INTERRUPTIONS TO YOUR MISSION…WHAT IF THEY ARE YOUR MISSION?

YOUR EVERYDAY MISSION

1.SEE YOUR EVERYDAY LIFE AS YOUR MISSION FIELD

TRUTH: WHERE YOU ARE ISN’T RANDOM.

Acts 17:26-27, “From one man he created all the nations throughout the whole earth. He decided beforehand when they should rise and fall, and he determined their boundaries.27 “His purpose was for the nations to seek after God and perhaps feel their way toward him and find him—though he is not far from any one of us.”

Colossians 4:5, “Live wisely among those who are not believers, and make the most of every opportunity.”

GOD DOESN’T NEED YOU TO CHANGE YOUR LOCATION BEFORE HE CAN USE YOUR LIFE.

**YOUR LOCATION MAY BE ORDINARY, BUT YOUR ASSIGNMENT IS ETERNAL.

2.BUILD RELATIONSHIPS BEFORE YOU BUILD OPPORTUNITIES

TRUTH: EVANGELISM STARTS WITH PEOPLE, NOT PRESENTATIONS.

1 Thessalonians 2:8, “We loved you so much that we shared with you not only God’s Good News but our own lives, too.”

1 Corinthians 9:22, “When I am with those who are weak, I share their weakness, for I want to bring the weak to Christ. Yes, I try to find common ground with everyone, doing everything I can to save some.”

**JESUS DIDN’T TREAT PEOPLE LIKE PROJECTS…HE TREATED PEOPLE LIKE PEOPLE.

PEOPLE DON’T NEED ANOTHER CHRISTIAN TALKING AT THEM.  THEY NEED A CHRISTIAN WILLING TO WALK WITH THEM.

3.TURN ORDINARY CONVERSATIONS INTO SPIRITUAL CONVERSATIONS

**LEARN TO RECOGNIZE THE DOORWAY.

Colossians 4:5-6, “Live wisely among those who are not believers, and make the most of every opportunity. 6 Let your conversation be gracious and attractive so that you will have the right response for everyone.”

1 Peter 3:15, “Instead, you must worship Christ as Lord of your life. And if someone asks about your hope as a believer, always be ready to explain it.”

TRUTH: YOU DON’T FORCE SPIRITUAL CONVERSATIONS.  YOU RECOGNIZE SPIRITUAL OPENINGS.

THE SPIRITUAL BRIDGE

LISTEN → ASK → SHARE

4.LET YOUR LIFE MAKE YOUR WORDS BELIEVABLE

TRUTH: YOUR LIFESTYLE IS PART OF YOUR WITNESS.

Matthew 5:16, “In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.”

John 13:35, “Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.”

YOUR WORKPLACE MAY BE THE ONLY BIBLE SOME PEOPLE EVER READ.

TRUTH: WE BECOME A BAD ADVERTISEMENT FOR A GOOD GOSPEL.
